Patterns,
Patterns Everywhere
Our
concept at GKP this year is patterns
and we are learning that patterns
not only repeat, they also enable
us to make predictions. Patterns
have different purposes –
to create beauty, order, strength
or help things survive. We have
explored patterns around the school
and in our classroom and are now
learning about how patterns relate
to the ways people and animals
behave and also about patterns
in numbers.
Who
Am I?
We
explored the question “Who
am I?” in Term 1, delving
deep into our own identities
as gifted children. Our work
culminated in the creation of
personal identity masks. We
were helped by Melanie Hollingsworth
from MaskWorx and were amazed
at how well were able to reflect
aspects of ourselves in our
masks.
Can you tell what I love? Music,
bling
and fashion.
A
proud Kiwi, rugby and the great
outdoors are my passions!
Creativity
at work.
This mask reflects my culture
and my passion for the natural
world.
My
passion is figure skating –
beauty and precision combined.
MOTAT
Visit
We also went
on a team-building trip to MOTAT
and took part in a range of
challenges which used our different
strengths in each group.
A
group challenge at MOTAT, sorting
out a timeline.
Physical
challenges and lots of fun were
also part of our MOTAT experience!
