Developing Students

GKP Curriculum Overview

The GKP Curriculum supports interaction with students of like-mind to:

  • develop an understanding of themselves as gifted individuals
  • explore and develop their gifts, talents and interests
  • engage in abstract and complex learning
  • experience and embrace new challenges
  • create and innovate

The GKP Day is delivered via a specifically developed curriculum which integrates four major cornerstones.

- Mental Edge: the development of creative, critical and caring thinking skills including an emphasis on questioning and metacognition.
- Talent Development: the exploration and development of individual talents and passions.
- Conceptual Learning: a focus on macro concepts, through ’big ideas’ and a variety of related contexts.
- Affective Domain: the exploration of giftedness and its associated characteristics through self-reflection and comparison with gifted individuals from the past and present.
